The Constitutional Council’s public relations office said Sunday the spokesman will hold a press briefing in Tehran on August 7.

The briefing will be held at 10:30 a.m. (local time) under strict health and safety regulations amid the COVID-19 pandemic and ahead of the Day of Journalists in Iran, which this year falls on August 8.

On July 14, the Council, also known as the Guardian Council, appointed Hadi Tahan Nazif as the top supervisory and legislative body’s new spokesman. He replaced Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei, who held the position since 2016.

In 2019, Tahan Nazif was nominated by former head of the Judiciary Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi for a position as a legal scholar on the Constitutional Council. In June the same year, when Tahan Nazif was just 36 years old, he was voted into the Council by members of Iran's Parliament as its youngest member.
