"The Constitutional Council reviewed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation, and found it not inconsistent with Islamic principles and the Constitution,” Constitutional Council spokesperson Hadi Tahan-Nazi wrote on X on Wednesday.

Iran's parliament had approved the 20-year strategic partnership on May 21.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin signed the strategic partnership document on January 17.
