Effective supervision leads to effective legislation: Constitutional Council's spokesman

"The Iranian Constitution has 177 articles and all of them need to be meticulously studied. All organizations, institutes and persons need to comply by the law. Some articles and provisions of the Constitution have been implemented and some parts have been left abandoned and need to be addressed. The Constitution has many powers and strengths and we should activate them," Hadi Tahan-Nazif said on Monday addressing reporters during his monthly press conference in Tehran.

He added that the Constitution has numerous supervisory, executive, and interpretive capacities and the parliament should make use of them and ratify effective legislation.

The spokesman added that the neglected capacities of the Constitution should be activated and reflected in the policies, functions and behaviors of the three branches of powers, institutions and executive bodies.
