Constitutional Council: Iran will continue to support Palestine

The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to stand by the oppressed people of Palestine until the full liberation of al-Quds, the Constitutional Council said in a statement on the occasion of International Quds Day.

Constitutional Council: Iran will continue to support Palestine

"At a time when the global arrogance was making every effort to consign the name of Palestine to oblivion, the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, with a wise and historic initiative, named the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramadan as Quds Day and thus shattered the evil calculations of the world's arrogant powers," the statement read.

"Since its inception in 1979, the Quds Day has helped create unity and solidarity among Muslims, keep the issue of Palestine alive, and uncover the Israeli regime’s crimes".

It said, "Today, the International Quds Day for Muslims and all freedom-seekers around the world has turned into a global movement and icon against occupation and bullying. This day has played a key role in hatching the sinister and inhumane plots of the aggressors and oppressors of the world, including the US and Israel, against the Palestinian people".

"Imam Khomeini initiated the Quds Day and laid the foundation for a resistance front against Al-Quds occupiers. Today, this front is stronger than any time in the past and all freedom seekers around the world need to get prepared to mark the International Quds Day and support the Palestinian cause of liberation from Israeli aggression and occupation".

The statement concluded that the Constitutional Council reiterates the Iranian nation as well as the Islamic Establishment’s all-out support for the oppressed people of Palestine, strongly condemns the Israeli regime's barbarity against Palestinians, and vow to stand by Palestinians until the full liberation of al-Quds.
