Iran’s Constitutional Council approves budget bill

In a message posted on his Twitter account late on Saturday, Hadi Tahan-Nazif wrote, “The national budget bill for 1401 was approved after the faults [found by the Constitutional Council] with it were corrected. They were not at variance with the Constitution and the standards of Islamic law”.

The Constitutional Council – also known as the Guardian Council – has informed the Parliament that the bill has been approved.

On March 15, the constitution watchdog reviewed the draft budget for the Iranian calendar year of 1401 (March 21, 2022- March 20, 2023) and sent it back to Parliament for further revisions.

The Parliament then worked on a list of the bill’s shortcomings highlighted by the Council and made the required changes before sending it to the council again for final approval.

Tahan-Nazif also congratulated the Iranian nation on the occasion of Nowruz, wishing all Iranians a year full of success, blessings, and health.
