The central supervisory committee for Iran’s 13th presidential election announced voting hours for the forthcoming vote.

A Faqih (Islamic jurist) member of Iran’s Constitutional Council said the watchdog body is primarily tasked with protecting and defending the Islamic ordinances and the Constitution.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said today Iran is stronger than ever and no storm can uproot it.

Constitutional Council spokesman, who is also a jurist member of the law watchdog body, called on the International Criminal Court to make former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu stand for his crimes against Palestinians.

Constitutional Council secretary Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati thanked Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for supporting the Constitutional Council in his recent speech.

The government of Iran is an Islamic Republic, established by the people based on their longstanding belief in the rule of Truth and Quranic Justice, following the victory of the Islamic Revolution led by the Grand Marja-e Taqlid Hazrat Ayatollah al-Uzma Imam Khomeini and voted upon with a 98.2% majority of eligible voters in a referendum held on the 10th and 11th of the month of Farvardin in the year 1358 of the solar Hijri calendar, equivalent to the 1st and 2nd of the month of Jamādi al-Ulā in the year 1399 of the lunar Hijri calendar [March 30-31, 1979 CE].

The spokesman of Iran’s Constitutional Council rejected the notion that the vetting body’s disqualification of high-profile figures in the run-up to the June 18 presidential election could affect voter turnout, saying opinion polls conducted by state bodies show that low participation in elections often has social and economic roots.

In addressing the Iranian nation in his annual speech on the first day of the Persian New Year this year, 1400 AH (March 2021), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran enumerated eight characteristics necessary in the country’s new president who is to be chosen in the upcoming elections. Emphasizing the importance of the enthusiastic participation of the people in the elections on June 18, 2021, Imam Khamenei stated that the solution to the serious problems of the country lies in making a good choice.

A jurist member and deputy secretary of the Constitutional Council — which supervises elections and vets candidates — said the disqualifications of nominees have nothing to do with their political inclinations.
